About the Recipe

Ingredients

-1/4 cp butter, softened

-1 tbsp pure maple syrup

-1½ cups powdered sugar

-1 tsp vanilla

-1/4 tsp maple extract

-3/4 cup chopped toasted walnuts

-8 ounces chocolate candy melts (dark, semi-sweet, milk, or white all work)

-2 tsp heavy cream (optional)

Preparation

  1. Mix together your butter, sugar, and maple syrup with a mixer. Add both your vanilla and maple extract and beat until creamy. If your mixture is not coming together you can add one tsp of heavy cream at a time until it forms together. Fold in your toasted walnuts.

Note** To toast your walnuts place your nuts on a cookie sheet in a single layer. Place in an oven at 350° for just a few minutes until you smell a nutty aroma. Remove from oven.

  2. Scoop 1 tbsp size balls of dough and place on a lined cookie sheet. Once all the dough balls are formed place in the fridge for about 30 minutes.

  3. Melt your melting chocolate in a microwave safe bowl. Remove your dough balls from the oven and roll each one between your palms to form a smooth cohesive ball.

  4. Dip each truffle in the bowl of chocolate with a fork. (Do not roll the truffles in the chocolate, take a spoon and pour chocolate over top.) Remove the truffle by lifting it with a fork and placing it back on your lined cookie sheet. Repeat this step until all the balls are coated.

  5. Take the remaining chocolate, or melt more chocolate, and drizzle swirls and swipes of chocolate over the top for decoration.

  6. Place back in the fridge to let the truffles continue to harden.

  7. Share these delicious truffles with your loved ones!
